The “Sunshine Kings” was formed by Graham Hughes 2009 for a performance at a jazz club in North London, performing jazz from the 20’s and 30’s. The band went from strength to strength, performing at clubs and festivals up and down the country – their brand of good musicianship and fun, combined with a love for the music gave them many admirers.

In 2011 an off-shoot of the band was formed for a tea dance in Tower Hamlets. For this the band played music for dancing – foxtrot, waltz, quickstep, rumba, samba, cha cha, jive and such. The event was such a success that they have been performing twice a year for Tower Hamlets ever since. The Sunshine Kings Tea Dance Band has since been booked to play further afield wherever the classic combination of tea and dancing is desired!

Their music is not only great to dance to, but fabulous to listen to. They give life and joy to music composed in another era.
